• Narm Charm: The Abominable Snow Mollusk goes back and forth between being a derpy-looking goof and a legitimately menacing monster, sometimes being both.
• Older Than They Think: Two examples.
  • This isn't the first time Plankton suffered Just Desserts via getting mistaken for a jellybean. It previously happened at the end of "F.U.N".
  • This isn't the first time Gary randomly utters a Mighty Roar. It already happened in "Your Shoe's Untied".
• Padding: The subplot about Mr. Krabs ditching the group doesn't amount to anything, as the next time we see him, he immediately rejoins them, without even being called out for his callous action. Some of Plankton's attempts at cracking open the safe could also be seen as this.
• Visual Effects of Awesome: The Abominable Snow Mollusk! Not only is it a stellar example of stop-motion animation but it's also seamlessly incorporated into the otherwise traditionally animated world of SpongeBob, including numerous times where it interacts with 2D characters or objects.
