• Jerkass Woobie: Despite all the bad things she does, it sucks to be Aphrodia. A symbolic scene implies that Gattler has exerted his authority over her even by forcing himself upon her.
• Moral Event Horizon: Gattler crosses it a few times in the series, including the reveal that he murdered Aphrodia and Miran's parents and then raped her as part of the training to make her a subservient and ruthless minion.
• Nightmare Fuel: Mixed with Tear Jerker, the end of episode 32 where Gattler unleashes catastrophic tsunamis all over the Earth and Marin can only watch horrified as whole cities are wiped out by the giant waves. The episode ends with a scary freeze frame of a tsunami with the word end appearing over it. It has been recreated in Super Robot Wars Z, though without the scary freeze frame.
