  • Fridge Brilliance: "Isn't She Lovely" is a pretty strong Tear Jerker for including a full three minutes of recordings of Stevie Wonder playing with his daughter as she laughs, cries and takes a bath, but it becomes even moreso once it's realized that by only letting his audience hear her that they can perceive and appreciate her loveliness in the exact manner that Stevie does – without sight.
  • Tough Act to Follow: This album is frequently considered to be the pinnacle of his career, while also marking the end of his classic run due to the challenge of topping it. Even Hotter Than July, which is often considered his last album before a major bout of Seasonal Rot in his latter-day career, is typically viewed as a step down from its predecessor as a result of just how high the bar was set.
  • Values Resonance: Stevie Wonder's 2015 tour playing only this album really shows how much of the subject matter remains true today. He acknowledges this throughout the concert.
