The film:

  • Audience-Alienating Premise: An exploitation thriller about the COVID-19 Pandemic produced by Michael Bay that was filmed and released while the pandemic was still ongoing, didn't sit well with the audience or the critics. It scored 9% on the Tomatometer on Rotten Tomatoes as a result.
  • Designated Hero: After Lita fails her temperature check, Nico spends the whole film trying to free Sara from quarantine despite knowing she's been exposed and is likely infected. It's only sheer luck that it turns out she was immune the whole time.
  • Designated Villain: Part of the above Audience-Alienating Premise is that it treats any and all anti-pandemic measures as brutal fascism, with the sanitation department ruling with an iron fist by requiring daily temperature checks and taking the sick into quarantine zones, which are not so subtly compared to concentration camps, (the plot summary on Wikipedia flat out calls them concentration camps) by force.
  • Director Displacement: People often talk about this being a Michael Bay movie. Although Michael Bay directed the action scenes, he did not direct the whole movie, although he was one of the producers. It was directed by Adam Mason who also co-wrote it with Simon Boyes.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot:
    • The movie could’ve focused more on how the pandemic was affecting the world, but instead, it mostly focuses on the love story between Nico and Sara.
    • When talking about the Q-Zone(s) in her video Grace Randolph said, "I can’t believe we never went there!", although she points out that this was likely because they couldn’t film something so crowded during the pandemic.
