• Anvilicious: Starting with the Paradise Point arc, the author has gone through great pains, but subtle and gross to highlight why he's a firm believer in the United States' Second Amendment, ie, the right to keep and bear arms. Prior to that point, just about everybody used guns because it's a "western" story, and that's what people in the "Wild West" did, for their own protection. From Paradise Point onward, Chris Hazelton has shown the readers exactly why government "gun control" is fundamentally bad idea. In Paradise Point, "a gun free town," the criminals are the police, and they're the only ones legally allowed to carry guns, and are shown abusing the hell out of that law, even going after Gwen, in the hospital, for no legally justified reason. In Chapter 39, the top Circle Mage, Cromwell, decides that his pet scapegoat has to die because he publicly voices, in-universe, the premise that the founding fathers of the United States gave for drafting the second amendment in the first place, and The Circle have patently proven themselves as villains beyond any shadow of doubt by this point.
