%% Only YMMV tropes relating to their work, not about the directors themselves.
* AcceptableTargets:
** Everyone, but particularly gays, little people, and women.
** A meta-example in the movies themselves, which are this for pretty much the whole Internet.
* AwardSnub: A rare case of UsefulNotes/GoldenRaspberryAward snub. So far all of their nominated works won nothing.
* BileFascination: Basically why most of their films gross more than twice their budget.
* EnsembleDarkhorse: The Willy Wonka character from Epic Movie, mainly because he's played by Crispin Glover.
* FunnyAneurysmMoment: The jokes in Disaster Movie about Amy Winehouse's drinking are especially disturbing after her alcoholism finally killed her.
* GrowingTheBeard: Relatively speaking. Their work has gotten more sporadic as of late and, while still very poorly reviewed and generally considered bad, many have noted that the filmmakers are at least now attempting to more accurately satirize the films they're referencing and not cram as many random bits of pop culture in as possible.
* HilariousInHindsight: One of many BigLippedAlligatorMoments in Epic Movie is a Film/PiratesOfTheCaribbeanTheCurseOfTheBlackPearl-themed parody of "Lazy Sunday". Cut to 2011 with the song "Jack Sparrow".
* JustHereForGodzilla: Out of the movies, the most enjoyable might be Disaster Movie, simply because viewers get to see Kim Kardashian (as herself, not an imitation) get killed.
* NightmareFuel:
** The "chipmunks" from Disaster Movie.
** The Willy Wonka expy in Epic Movie plays up his creepiness by making him downright cannibalistic.
* OneSceneWonder:
** Josh Meyers' impersonation of Film/NapoleonDynamite was widely agreed to be one of the few good things (if not the only good thing) about Date Movie.
** The Advertising/HeadOn skit from Disaster Movie, often considered to be the best joke in the entire film.
* Padding: Meet the Spartans total runtime is 86 minutes, but about twenty minutes of that is extra padding before the credits roll.
* ShallowParody: Not surprising, since the duo have admitted they generally just watch the trailers of their target and go from there. Given that often the movies parodied haven't even been released at time of filming, it's really all they've got.
* SnarkBait: Their films generally gain this reputation due to their poor quality.
%% * SoBadItsGood: Their entire filmography
* SpecialEffectsFailure: The effects are just as cheap as the parodies these films attempt.
** This is especially visible in Disaster Movie:
*** The nightmarish, stiff Chipmunk puppets and piss-poor animatronics used for the Po parody are standouts in an already ugly-looking film.
*** It's obvious they just used some sort of distortion effect to crush the Film/IronMan, Batman and Hulk parodies under falling cows. Said cows also look like wooden sculptures more than anything.
*** The Hulk parody is clearly wearing a pair of green-painted underwear when his shorts rip off. Bare in mind, he was supposed to be nude.
** Meet the Spartans has the terrifying ogre and Leonidas baby puppetsmade even more jarring by showing the audience a real baby between the two. and the "obviously a midget" penguin at the beginning. "Xerxestron" is also pretty hokey looking in and of itself.
* TookTheBadFilmSeriously:
** Creator/AlysonHannigan, like Creator/JoshMeyers, has been widely agreed to be one of the few good things in Film/DateMovie.
** Similarly, Maiara Walsh in The Starving Games absolutely brings her A game and shows total dedication to the material. With better material, it could have been a breakout performance.
* UncannyValley: The puppets used in the films such as the baby in Meet The Spartans and the chipmunks and Franchise/KungFuPanda from Disaster Movie mentioned above looked really off
* WereStillRelevantDammit: Their 2013 offering, The Starving Games crosses a new threshold by referencing VideoGame/AngryBirds and Double Rainbow.
* WTHCastingAgency: Even by the standards of these films, Creator/KimKardashian stands out as being woefully miscast as one of the main protagonists in Disaster Movie.
