• Character Rerailment:
  • The comic does much to remove the Faux Action Girl status Season 2 put Bunnie Rabbot in.
  • Sally's Flawless Token status is lessened and she's a more flawed character, perhaps most notably giving her the role of Scrooge in a Yet Another Christmas Carol mini story and actually managing to make it in-character.
• Tear Jerker: In the Yet Another Christmas Carol mini comic, the entire scene with the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come. Sally (Scrooge) breaks down and cries when she sees the grave of Tails (Tiny Tim).
• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot:
  • This comic set out to avert some of this due to Sega's disinterest in a third season, and the Archie comics not following the plans Ben Hurst left behind (though Archie is a separate continuity). It was based on the notes that were available at the time.
  • It became this eventually after the full third season notes were released. After the unfortunate death of head story writer Ben Hurst, his full notes were released shortly afterwards. By then, the comic was already a few chapters in and had the entire plot written out which they decided not to change. This led to quite a few differences between the comic and the full notes. However, most seem to be fine with this as most agree the story itself is very well written and perfectly in tone with the original series.
