YMMV / Scooby-Doo! and the WWE: Curse of the Speed Demon

Go To

  • Even Better Sequel: Wrestlemania Mystery was a fun romp, but Curse of the Demon had a unique setting of the wacky race, combined with more interactions with the wrestlers that made the movie much more entertaining to watch. Moreover, unlike the previous film having to juggle with three wrestlers as a focus - John Cena, Sin Cara and Kane — with only Sin Cara having the biggest connection to the villain (Cena is there for a Big Damn Heroes moment and Kane is only there as an obstacle for Shaggy and Scooby to clear their names), Undertaker actually has a goal in mind as to why he wants to face Speed Demon (revenge for getting Dusty injured) and is much more amicable than his half-brother was.
  • Fan Nickname: It didn't take long for fans to name this movie WWE Crush Hour.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: Undertaker wants to use the money from the MOTO X to make something he calls "Undertaker's Puppet Jubilee" for his fans. Just a few years later, another Wrestling Monster would have his own puppet jubilee called "The Firefly Funhouse".
  • Just Here for Godzilla: Most wrestling fans were watching it because of how The Undertaker had the most focus.
  • Narm Charm: Compared to Wrestlemania Mystery, the characters here are much more Charles Atlas Superpower and break the laws of physics regularly to do their thing. Given that the movie doesn't really take itself seriously at all and utterly hams up the WWE elements to the extreme, most viewers don't seem to mind.
  • Unexpected Character: Raise your hands if you thought you'd see a second Scooby-Doo/WWE crossover that had Paige, Goldust, Stardust, Los Matadores, Kofi Kingston and Rusev in it.
  • Unintentionally Unsympathetic: The villain's Motive Rant and Mr. McMahon's response to it gets played as a traditional heartwarming Milholland Relationship Moment. This ignores the facts that the culprit has been sabotaging all the other racers (who were competing fairly) to ensure they win and claiming that they're winning solely on talent and even coming close to killing Undertaker, Shaggy, and Scooby.
