- Ass Pull: During her confrontation with Makoto after her failed performance, Minako states that the reason she's acting out is because she feels that her idol dreams are unobtainable compared to Makoto's. The first half of the episode never referenced Minako's idol dreams as the source of the conflict was all about winning Mr. Honjo's heart.
- Awesome Music: The Cloverway dub briefly features an English cover of Route Venus.
- It's the Same, Now It Sucks!: A common complaint about this episode was that it felt too similar to Dispute Over Love: Minako and Makoto's Conflict since it follows a similar premise of the girls getting into a friendship breaking conflict over love but get over it while fighting the enemy and unlocking new powers.
- They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: This episode does a disservice to Minako and Makoto by having them share the spotlight along with their new super attacks when they could have gotten their own episodes dedicated to their own inner struggles and how they want to achieve dreams, much like Ami and Rei.
