- Older Than They Think: One of his fables tells of a parrot who broke some oil jars and his owner ripped out its feather plumage. Some time later, the parrot saw a bald sage and asked "Hey! Where did you break the oil jars?" Today, it's still told, usually as a joke about a parrot nailed to the wall as punishment and seeing a crucifix.
