YMMV / Rock Odyssey

Go To

  • Animation Age Ghetto: Though most of the film is pretty tame, the segment set in The '60s takes a very dark turn as Laura's boyfriend in that era is drafted into the Vietnam War, gets PTSD, and ends up dead. These scenes are likely why the film was shelved for several years, though they were ultimately retained.
  • Awesome Animation: From Hanna-Barbera of all places. Yes, seriously. To look at most of this film you'd never think it was made by them.
  • Awesome Music: Naturally, as the soundtrack is made up of rock hits from The '50s to The '80s.
  • Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: The "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go" segment, where old clips of Hanna-Barbera characters like Yogi Bear, Fred Flintstone, and George Jetson are awkwardly set to the song. The result is something similar to a poor quality, cringeworthy AMV. It's entirely out of place and does nothing to move the plot along, nor is it ever mentioned again. This is because it was only added to hide how long the film laid on The Shelf of Movie Languishment, with only one song in The '80s segment ("On the Road Again") actually dating to that decade otherwise.
