• Alas, Poor Scrappy: Even those who otherwise hate Jerry, admitted to feel sorry for him once Summer gave her a very cruel and unwarranted "The Reason You Suck" Speech merely because he didn't left her use her phone while camping. Especially because unlike other episodes where Jerry is the Butt-Monkey, this is one rare instance where he didn't truly did anything wrong.
• Catharsis Factor: As awful as Reggie is, it's still satisfying to watch him land a decisive victory and beat the crap out of Rick, who many saw as being too much of an obnoxious Invincible Hero who could effortlessly defeat anyone or anything.
• Genius Bonus: In addition to Reggie's resemblance to Zeus, the fact that he is a sky god who fathered a child with a being called Gaia makes him comparable to Zeus' own grandfather, Ouranos, who fathered the Titans with Gaia in Classical Mythology.
• Harsher in Hindsight: Rick and Beth bonding over the construction of the republic seems like it will lead to a healthier relationship for both of them, with the Broken Pedestal she's had towards him since "The ABC's of Beth" seeming to become a Rebuilt Pedestal here. Come the very next episode, the pedestal is instead broken even further, and Beth finally stops caring altogether about having her father's approval.
• The Woobie: Jerry. After having his plans to go camping spoiled by Rick's latest screw-up, Summer tells Jerry to his face that he's a loser, which pushes Jerry to run away so his kids won't see him cry. Morty points out that Summer went overboard.
