YMMV / Ratchet & Clank: Before the Nexus

Go To

  • Game-Breaker: The R.Y.N.O.m. Not only is it relatively easy to obtain (needing the player to collect just 10 Terachnoids), it decimates everything on screen making the combat sections a joke that might as well be giving you free bolts. By the time you get it, you'll be swimming in bolts allowing you to stand perfectly still and spam the attack button without having to worry about ammo costs.
  • It's Easy, So It Sucks!: The game is pitifully easy by endless runner game standards, due in large part to Ratchet having a health bar instead of a One-Hit Kill. On your first couple of runs you may encounter some issues that lead to your death, but once you get the hang of the game and notice the small pool of pathways the game lays out it becomes incredibly easy to rack up a long distance. By the time you have some armor and weapon upgrades, the only times you'll be dying are if you're either not paying attention or actively trying to get killed.
  • It's Short, So It Sucks!: Though, not in the usual sense. The game itself only ends once you die, however the selection of map pieces the game will randomly put in your path is very small. This allows players to memorize each layout relatively easily, and thus get a farther distance as a result.
  • Narm: While it's natural to not expect mobile games to have the same graphical fidelity as console ones, the graphics in Before the Nexus can be best described as "Simon the Sorcerer 3D but with even muddier textures."
