Crowning Moment of Awesome: Fumie's confrontation with Mari/Jubilation in chapter 33, and after some intense fighting and calling each other out, they finally reconcile, resulting in Mari's Heel–Face Turn.
Harsher in Hindsight: Remember when Hisa yelled at Mari for dragging them around and hurt her feelings? Well, as of chapters 28 and 29, she may be taking Hisa's comments more personally than the readers thought.
Another example: The twist at the end with the person we think is the Big Bad is actually being brainwashed and used, with the realBig Bad being the one that did it. And they were a Pretty Cure themselves.Where have we seen that before?
Jerkass Woobie: Mari as Jubilation. She's quite harsh to Fumie, under the delusion that Fumie deliberately abandoned her and doesn't want to be her friend anymore. She gets better, thankfully!
Overshadowed by Controversy: The series is at least as well known for its author's outbursts against any hint of plagiarism (read: she goes after literally anything with an "afterschool activities" thematic whether it's a direct knockoff or not, which managed to put that thematic on ice for the foreseeable future) as it is for its merits as a quality story. Not helping is her public feud with one such victim, which degenerated from a simple plagiarism dispute and reignited accusations of misandry against her despite her claiming to have stopped hating men by that point, and accusations that she Can't Take Criticism, the latter especially which has earned her more than a few enemies in the Pretty Cure fandom, even among those who like this story.
Tear Jerker: Dear lord, chapters 28 and 29 were quite horrible to poor Fumie!
The Woobie: Kotone when she learns she didn't get scouted, Uta when Fureyaa gets brutally attacked by Chuusha, Mari with her backstory, and Fumie upon seeing Mari get brainwashed by Nocturna and turned into a Dark Magical Girl, convinced it's all her fault for not meeting with Mari in time.
