YMMV / Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Ginji's Rescue Team

Go To

  • Adaptational Expansion: The fight between Ginji, Mudkip, and Team ACT is much longer than in the original games where the characters only rush at each other without an actual boss fight.
  • Angst? What Angst?: When Ginji thinks about how Mudkip is doing, we see him helping Pokémon without any trauma that Ginji is gone, unlike the games.
  • Harsher in Hindsight: At the end, Ginji thinks that Mudkip is doing fine without him. If you played the games, you'd know that the player leaving is much sadder.
  • Unintentionally Unsympathetic: Ninetales is depicted as a wise being and Gengar as a villain, but the entire plot happens because Ninetales dealt out Disproportionate Retribution to the wrong person. Gengar, once a human, touched Ninetales’s tail and would’ve been cursed for 1000 years had their Gardevoir not taken the curse instead. This is treated as Gengar’s fault for not accepting the curse, but Ninetales is never criticized for knowingly maintaining her curse on an innocent person.
