• Follow the Leader: The creators admitted that the show was inspired by Loki taking a movie villain and giving him a redemption storyline. At least in this case, Bumper's villainy in the Pitch Perfect movies was far more benign than Loki's, who actually killed people.
• Just Here for Godzilla: For some, half the appeal of the series is seeing Adam DeVine and Sarah Hyland together as a romantic couple on screen, seeing it as a do-over of their characters' relationship in Modern Family. In the YouTube trailer, Peacock themselves even leaned into this, commenting "Justice for Haley and Andy" and uploading a collection of highlights from Modern Family.
