YMMV / PewDiePie: Legend of the Brofist

Go To

  • Awesome Music: The game's platforming action is accompanied by a very catchy Chiptune soundtrack by RushJet1, getting you in the right mood for a big adventure. Some of the many noteworthy tracks include the overworld theme, Abandoned Subway, Yeti's Mountain, Tree Tops, the track for the Moon levels and last but not least both phases of the Final Boss theme.
  • Complacent Gaming Syndrome: Dr. Crab Healing is the first defensive power you unlock in the game and is generally considered to be the best one. It may not be as flashy as some of the other defensive options, but being able to heal three hearts at once whenever you want makes it useful no matter the circumstance.
  • Demonic Spiders: Lures. Introduced in the Tree Tops level, these horrific creatures wait for you to get close in the guise of attractive ladies before revealing their ghastly true form. Unless you have an offensive ability at the ready, Lures will follow you around and blast you with energy spheres from above, where neither your regular nor bounce-boosted jumps can reach them. Thankfully they will eventually fly away on their own, but you'd better wait them out until then, as they will make platforming and avoiding other enemies much more difficult.
  • Goddamn Bats: The Beez. They are the only enemy that lacks a direct means of damaging you (unless you get hit by their nest while it falls), but what they do is swarm around you to slow down your movement speed and lowering your maximum jump height. At worst they make it far easier for other enemies like Lures and Bats to hit you, while at best they just annoy you and force you to wait in one spot until they decide to leave.
  • Harsher in Hindsight: The inclusion of Cryaotic as a playable character and especially his romance scene with PewDiePie, which is interrupted by an angry phone call from Pewd's girlfriend Marzia, became significantly less funny after he was exposed for cheating on his then-girlfriend with a minor.
  • That One Achievement: "Spugtacular", which requires you to beat all 28 levels in Pug Mode. This difficulty is only unlocked after beating the game once and can only be accessed on any given level if you have already completed it on Bro Mode, and for damn good reason. Not only are enemy spawns and environmental dangers equal to Bro Mode, but you also cannot make a single mistake due to being a One-Hit-Point Wonder without companions to give you additonal last chances, meaning you are always one hit away from having to redo the entire level. On top of all that, you are also prohibited from using any offensive or defensive powers. The singular benefit you get is that, since you are playing as one of the pugs Maya or Edgar, your hitbox is slightly smaller than with other characters.
