* AwesomeMusic: [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GOMIjYr28qg The theme song]]
* CrossestheLineTwice: Some of Balki's stories about living on Mypos.
* HeartwarmingMoments: Larry getting Balki to talk about his homesickness in "Beautiful Dreamer". This shows at times he's really worried about his cousin, and it's one of the few moments where ''he'' saves the day.
** A real life example, the last time they do "the dance of joy" at the request of a live audience member on the final show. Bronson Pinchot tearfully giving his usual line "now we are so happy we do the dance of joy".
* HoYay: Balki and Larry, of the KissingCousins variety. The 'Dance of Joy' ends with Larry jumping into Balki's arms.
* ScrewedByTheNetwork: A bizarre case of this toward the end. Despite the series continuing to do well in the ratings entering the 1991-92; Creator/{{ABC}} had been reportedly trying to cancel ''Perfect Strangers'' due to rising costs and advancing age (7th season). By early 1992; ABC decided to transfer the series from its 9:30 p.m. slot on the TGIF block to an [[KickedUpstairs newly-created offshoot block called "I Love Saturday Night"]], placing it alongside aging one-time ABC hits ''Series/GrowingPains'' and ''Series/WhosTheBoss'' along with a new animated series called ''WesternAnimation/CapitolCritters''. Inevitably, the series (which finished at #32[[note]]note far from his series average ranking of 27th place[[/note]]) plummeted to #65 in the ratings, allowing ABC to shelve it; ironically enough, by sticking reruns at its old slot during the summer of 1992 (the series would be placed on hiatus and have its final 6 episodes burned off over the summer of 1993, over a year and a half after ABC moved it to Saturday).
* TearJerker: A few, namely when Balki suffered his first big heartbreak.
** The end of 'Bye Bye Biki'. Balki had lost his 106 year old grandmother as soon as she had arrived in Chicago, and doesn't act too upset about it. He later confesses to her casket that he's been hiding his pain to stay strong and so that people won't feel sad.
** In 'Lifesavers, Balki is tethering a sleeping Larry to the table so he doesn't sleepwalk and fall out the window. Then he notices that Larry is awfully still. Balki is so worried and upset that he tries checking Larry's heartbeat and breath. It turned out that Larry was still alive, but so deeply asleep that it made poor Balki fear the worst.
* TheWoobie: Balki at times.
