|These are what we call the 'YMMV items.' Things that some people find in this work. We call them 'your mileage might vary' because not everyone sees these things in the same way. This starts discussions in the trope lists, a thing we don't want. Please use the discussion page if you'd like to discuss any of these items.|
YMMV: Paul Harvey
- Glurge: Some of his stories delved into this territory, especially a few of his "Rest of the Story" stories. One famous one, "God Made a Farmer", was used in a 2013 Super Bowl ad for Ram Trucks.
- Replacement Scrappy: Gil Gross and Doug Limerick (both of whom had previously filled in for him on occasion) tried to carry on with Paul Harvey-esque formats after his death. Their replacements lasted three weeks before ABC replaced them with Mike Huckabee's Huckabee Report.
- Values Dissonance: His "Sugar Candy" commentary from 2005 led to this for some listeners, who interpreted it as Harvey's endorsement of slavery, genocide and imperialism.
