YMMV / Patman Post

Go To

  • Angst? What Angst?: Patman has minimal reactions to both Peter Fogg dying and turning into a ghost in front of him, and has even less empathy while investigating a murder victim who happens to share a name with his own son.
  • Awesome Music: "Patman Post camps it up" opens with a Thunderbirds parody, complete with an amazing orchestral remix of the Postman Pat.
  • Bizarro Episode: "Patman Post and German Expressionist cinema", a parody of silent films with German subtitles and a mystery of children disappearing. None of it is ever mentioned again afterwards.
  • Crosses the Line Twice: Much of the humour is dark, but these moments stick out:
    • Patman and co. decide to get rid of the toad in the road by blowing it up. Their plan fails miserably, as the bomb has no effect, then immediately after, the toad is unceremoniously killed by a random train passing by, complete with a newspaper article about it appearing with a "wah-wah-wah" noise.
    • In a more meta sense, the murder victim whose case Patman investigates is named Julian, whose body is dragged all over town, left behind at the post office, entered in a Best Corpse Competition, and more. In canon, Julian is the name of Pat's son.
  • Fridge Logic: In "Patman Post camps it up", the campsite explodes from a nuclear fart, and the Pontypandy Fire Service (or at the very least, just Sam) are called in to investigate. Does Greendale not have its own fire service? Or was the explosion so bad, they needed the Pontypandy Fire Service for backup?
