  • Sliding Scale of Social Satisfaction: Magix starts off as "Too Happy to Care". Thanks to the Winx Club, the villains with bad publicity have been disposed of. However, there are still plenty of villains with good publicity — namely, the power-hungry Council of Magix and more than a few of corrupt noblemen. Alone, they are no threat that most of the royal-born heroes couldn't deal with (so Magix would be the "Sweet with a Helping of Sour" that it is in canon). If you insert a Demon Lady borrowed from another dimension into the equation, you get those small-fry villains working their butts off to allow her to enter Magix, weakening its militaristic system (sabotaging the magical schools), and luring its population into a false sense of security. When the Burning Legion invades it, most of Magix rapidly degenerates into "Hell On Earth", with the war zones ranging from extinct-by-Fel Unholy Grounds (like Solaria and Isis) to devastated, politically unstable realms (like Domino). The regions lucky enough to have held their ground maintain a perilously fragile "Outside is Burning, Inside is Safe".
  • Tear Jerker: Paradoxus belongs to the Angst flavor of fanfics so, naturally, there are quite a few heart-wrenching moments.
    • Daphne telling Galadwen her years as a bodiless spirit doomed to roam Domino's ruins. It was sad enough in canon but it's made worse here as Daphne has to renounce her family a second time to fulfill her duties as a nymph.
    • Trisha and Altalune meeting their deceased mother for the first time after traveling to the past. Trisha gets trapped in a PTSD episode of when Bloom died right there while Altalune runs away in panic and grief.
    • Altalune and Trisha parting ways after the former decided to stay in the past and Set Right What Once Went Wrong in the hopes of providing a better future for her younger sister. It doesn't help Altalune knocks Trisha out so she won't be able to do anything to prevent it. Nor the fact the two stranged sisters were finally starting to mend their broken relationship.
    • Stella and Bloom's deaths are soul-wrenching; not only must their last moments have been terrifying due to the Shaab Stone canceling their magic, but they also die knowing they've just left their beloved daughters defenseless. Bloom, especially, breathes her last thinking her sister and biological mother have both disappeared—when, in reality, they've embarked on difficult, long-term missions.
  • Unpopular Popular Character: Trisha has a rather delicate situation as Domino's crown princess. Due to being the daughter who resembles Bloom the most, Domino's denizens regard her as a Replacement Goldfish, however, Trisha has failed to live up to their unfair expectations and, as a consequence, they don't deem her worthy as Bloom's successor. For starters, Trisha certainly lacks her sister's charisma and doesn't own victories as impressive as her mother's. Also add to that she is a brooding, stoic Shrinking Violet who hates being put in the limelight. Later in the story, her Roaring Rampage of Revenge does little to help her gain points from both the corrupt Rocalucce Council she's hunting and the general public. Despite all of that and, in some cases, because all of that, plus her status as the resident Woobie, Trisha is quite popular among Paradoxus readers. It goes to the point most of them want to hug the poor girl and some even go as far as to justify her morally black deeds. Proof of this is that she's got some of the better fan arts such as this one.
  • Woobie Family: The OĆ°rsson.
