YMMV / Pablo Honey

Go To

  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Outside of "Creep", the closer "Blow Out" is considered by both the band and fans to be a career high point, as it predicted the more mature style that they would take on later releases. As such, it's one of the few songs from Pablo Honey that they've played live post-1995. Its return to their live set during the In Rainbows tour was met with an ecstatic response.
  • Signature Song: "Creep" was the band's first hit and so quickly eclipsed their other material that they risked becoming a One-Hit Wonder before the even greater success of OK Computer. Even today, it remains Radiohead's best-known song, being considered an icon of '90s Alternative Rock and a staple of memes and appearances in other media.
  • So Bad, It's Good: The infamous MTV Beach House 1993 performance of "Anyone Can Play Guitar", in which Thom Yorke jumps around erratically, calls Jim Morrison "fat, ugly, [and] dead," shrieks his lungs out at the camera, and jumps into a pool for no reason. To top it all off, they weren't scheduled to play that song. The performance became highly popular among Radiohead fans specifically because of how bizarre it was, leading it to become a Fountain of Memes among the fanbase.
  • So Okay, It's Average: The general opinion of the album. Its a decent 90's Alternative Rock album, but pales in comparison to the ambition of their later albums.
