YMMV / Overman King Gainer

• Awesome Music: King Gainer Over. Made more awesome due to the fact it's sung by Yoshiyuki Fukuyama (aka Nekki Basara) and writen by Yoshiyuki Tomino himself. Also the monkey dance in the opening. KING, KING, KING GAINER, KING, KING, KING GAINER!!!
• Moment of Awesome: Plenty (it is a Super Robot show) but Gain picking off each of Asuham's Overman's eyes in the span of about 4 seconds with consecutive shots was amazing.
• Fan Nickname: The Gainer's multiple tubes attached at the back of its head are enough for many people to call it the Dreadlock Mech.
• Moral Event Horizon: Munt won't look so funny anymore, when you'll see him crushing a City Unit under the Crystal of Agate.
• The Scrappy: Among the show's fandom, Asuham is often considered an uninteresting, one-note villain for his obsession with capturing Gain and his Motive Decay.
• Strangled by the Red String: Adette and Gauli. Seriously, where did that come from?
  • It actually starts when Gauli revealed he killed Gainer's parents and was punched for it. Of course, it's mixed in with the gag where everyone says they love the guy, so...
• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: Not to a huge degree, but Gain's backstory with Asuham and Karin, and the fact that he participated in a failed Exodus could have been elaborated on a little more...
  • Wasn't the whole point of his backstory with Asuham and Karin that there wasn't really one?
• Wangst: Gainer suffers from this. In his defense, he was under Overfreeze at that moment.
