  • Germans Love David Hasselhoff: A 30-second version was shown on South Carolina television stations in the 2010s, probably because of the lesson about not texting and driving being a universal one.
  • Just Here for Godzilla: The crash scene itself is the one most remember from this film.
  • Narm: During the climax, several stock sound effects are heard, which somewhat cheapens the otherwise gruesome imagery.
    • The fact that our main teenage lead is nicknamed Cow. You would certainly be hard-pressed to find any teenage girl who would be okay with having the nickname Cow, due to it also being an insult for being fat and teenaged girls are known to be very self-conscious about their weight and appearance.
  • Spiritual Successor: To Lucky Luke, an educational film that Gwent Police made in the 1980s, in which a boy causes a terrible accident while joyriding. In the United States, one candidate could be Joy Ride: An Auto Theft, a 1976 driver's education movie also about a deadly accident while four teenagers are joyriding in a stolen vehicle.
  • Unintentionally Sympathetic: Cassie's parents. While their daughter deserved to be punished for the devastating tragedy she caused, her parents did nothing to warrant being ostracized by the whole town, and are only trying to live their lives following the incident.
  • Unintentionally Unsympathetic: Most of the townspeople, with a special mention to Mr. Williams, following his daughter's death. At the wake, a rage-driven Mr. Williams concludes that Cassie was drunk (due to being breath-tested prior) and goes as far as to say that he'll kill Cassie's father if he ever sees him again, even though a) Cassie wasn't drunk, and b) Cassie's parents didn't do anything to warrant this. On the other hand, the grandmother of the little boy is an exception to this trope, as she laments being the only one to take care of her grandson following the incident.
