• Angst? What Angst?: The trauma Quinn and Brooke went through in the previous episode is largely ignored in favor of a toned down version of The Hangover.
• Fanon Discontinuity: Some fans tend to disregard the episode due to the way it explains Peyton's absence from Brooke's wedding, and the implication that Brooke and Peyton are no longer friends following Lucas and Peyton's departure from Tree Hill at the end of Season 6. It helps that Sophia Bush, Bethany Joy Lenz, and Hilarie Burton reprised their roles of Brooke, Haley and Peyton in 2020 to film a skit encouraging voter registration, which firmly establishes that the friendships remain intact years later.
• Harsher in Hindsight: This episode continues the trend of characters speaking dismissively of Peyton following Hilarie Burton's departure from the series at the end of Season 6. At this point, it just comes off as bitterness because Burton left the series of her volition - especially in light of Burton's accusations of sexual harassment made towards showrunner Mark Schwahn in the 2017 Hollywood Sexual Harassment Scandal.
