YMMV / One Piece Role Play

Go To

  • Animal-Motif Team: Initially Subverted, as unlike in the canon of One Piece the Admirals did not all follow the "Color + Animal" naming convention. Played straight after Fuyuki (Winter Tree), the Admiral that broke the motif, was promoted to Fleet Admiral at the start of 2024 and was replaced by Konsai.
    • As of the start of 2024, the Admirals are Kanto (Orange Rabbit), Kokuyo (Black Sheep) and the aforementioned Konsai (Navy Rhino).
  • Arc Fatigue: Certain roleplays or stories have gone on for quite some time (in true One Piece fashion), leading to this reaction from some.
  • Archive Panic: The wiki has over 14,000 articles (understandable, many fans contribute to it) and it keeps growing.
  • Broken Base:
  • Awesome Art: Many of the wiki's characters actually have original artwork dedicated to them.
  • Common Knowledge:
  • Continuity Lockout: Getting into the wiki in its later years can be difficult, given the sheer amount of characters and stories that have been roleplayed.
  • Fair for Its Day: Because it was created so long ago, not everything in this wiki's universe is fully compliant to "Canon".
    • Subverted: Slightly, as there seem to be alterations and adaptations of events that happen in the series.
  • Fanon: Aside from being a fan wiki, the wiki takes certain fan interpretations over some canon concepts.
  • Fictional Currency: The Wiki has adopted the Reputation Points system from early 2021 until early 2024.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: Some of the fan creations ended up being similar or downright share the same name as concepts later introduced in canon.
    • Years before the concept of infusing oneself with Haoshoku Haki (Conqueror's Haki) was introduced at "One Piece: Wano Arc", Kurama was able to channel his own into "red lightning and cause it to devastate the entire area around him".
    • The Zou Zou no Mi, Model: Mammoth was created back in May 2015, while its canon reveal was in November 2015. Officially, it was only named in 2021.
    • The Mori Mori no Mi, the Fruit later revealed to belong to Admiral Ryokugyu in July of 2022, has existed on the wiki since 2017.
  • Genius Bonus:
  • Memetic Mutation: It has its own memes page.
  • Salvaged Story: With its many users, it is easy to revisit unseen interactions or add scenes even to past stories.
