YMMV / Once Upon a Time (1995)

• Nightmare Fuel:
  • The musical intro that accompanies every title card can be pretty scary.
  • The titular Bluebeard is as ghastly as ever, with his blue-tinged skin and red eyes making him look even more abnormal.
• Awesome Art: Every episode has its own unique art style. The limited frame rate also gives the series an ethereal quality.
• Unintentional Uncanny Valley: The titular cat from Puss in Boots has a rather creepy face, with his round, unblinking eyes and white lips set against black fur.
• Values Dissonance: These cartoons weren't known for being racially sensitive.
  • The Emperor and the Nightingale and The Chimney Sweep and the Shepherdess both have some unflattering and dated portrayals of East Asians.
  • Little Red Riding Hood is set in the arid regions of Africa and while the protagonist and her family aren't meant to be human, their character designs are still noticably close to blackface caricatures.
