- He Really Can Act: Jerry Landers was John Denver's very first major acting role, and what's more, he had no professional training. But just watching this movie, you'd never know it.
- Sequelitis: The general consensus is that the first movie was a quietly enjoyable and quirky comedy, with the sequels turning to more sitcom-like slapstick and suffering as a result. The changes in creators definitely didn't help.
- Surprisingly Improved Sequel: While it's still not anywhere near as highly regarded as the first film, Oh, God! You Devil! was generally considered to be a step-up over the second film, for giving George Burns more to do and having a slightly more interesting storyline.
