YMMV / Nothingface

Go To

  • Crosses the Line Twice: Some of the track titles on Skeletons, such as "Murder Is Masturbation" and "I Wish I Was a Communist".
  • Epic Riff: All over the place, with the guitar riffs on "For All the Sin", "Bleeder" and "Ether" standing out in particular.
  • Growing the Beard: Nothingface was highly influenced by Korn’s debut and went under the radar, and while Pacifier marked the point where the band had slowly developed their own style, it was still considered rather mediocre. AEGTAA demonstrated their Signature Style of Uncommon Time Signatures and Soprano and Gravel vocals from Matt Holt, which was taken a step or two further on Violence and of course their final album Skeletons.
  • Narm: They weren’t immune to this. Here's an excerpt of the lyrics for "Same Solution", to set an example:
    "Hanging, all right"
"On a fucking meat hook in my basement"
    "Who's next? All right!"
    "It's everybody's time to die"
  • Values Resonance: Skeletons is a stark depiction of government surveillance and global imperialism, which has only grown worse due to Wikileaks revealing in the 2010's that it goes much further than was previously thought, along with the continued warfare policies of the united states.
"If we could only see the past the shit"
    "And learn the truth"
    "Maybe someone could adapt"
"And show us how to change things"
"We invented the way to terrify en masse"
    "And we all wonder why"
"When someone wants to kill us"
