  • Broken Base: His Normandie drawing triggered an all-out debate over whether Normandie is the pinnacle of ocean liner history and Northa has done it justice, or if Normandie was overhyped and Northa played into the hype.
  • Germans Love David Hasselhoff: Northa's works have garnered way more attention in Brazil and Indonesia than in his home country Philippines.
  • Growing the Beard: Northa's earlier Titanic work was done on paper with cheap coloring pencils, and is rather lighthearted and simplistic. Compare that to his modern-day Titanic work, done digitally, and more focused on the hard reality of the subject matter at hand and the tragedies surrounding it.
  • Harsher in Hindsight:
    • In a tweet made in 2018, Northa talks about how people tell him to stop making Titanic content after several copycats have spawned. Years later, Northa not only has several copycats but also some users who outright steal their work. Ouch.
    • His real-life issues that caused severe Troubled Production especially for his Olympic-class trio arts, might eerily remind some on how infamously troubled the production of James Cameron's Titanic movie was, which included Kate Winslet got seriously injured and Cameron himself (along with Bill Paxton and more than 40 others) got hospitalized for poisoned food laced with PCP.
  • Hype Aversion: Many people do not follow Northa's Titanic work and instead go to other creators for how seriously the Titanic subject is taken in Northa's work.
  • Misaimed Fandom: Because of the subject nature surrounding the Titanic, a handful of followers and outsiders have been under the impression that just like every other Titanic gijinka creators in the past, Northa does it for the fanservice and not for the genuine passion of learning about the Titanic. Northa at times had to clarify that it was so not the case. Works like Until the Bitter End, Down With The Sun, and Lily & The Moon emphasize Northa's true passion for the subject matter.
  • Obscure Popularity: Northa had a YouTube channel that garnered 7,000 subscribers and amassed a total of 2.7 million views. However, the channel has been completely retconned from existence after its deletion.
  • Self-Imposed Challenge: Lily & The Moon started production March 30, 2022 and was completed the next day. Unusually fast for Northa, as drawings usually take a week or two to produce.
  • The Woobie: Titanic herself with how her history and disaster have been portrayed in Northa's works in a brutally honest and realistic light as compared to other creators making similar content to him.
