• Ensemble Dark Horse: Bondarenko for many fans.
• Iron Woobie: Ivan, so much. Not only does he not get the girl, he heroically wipes out traitors only to be killed by his own brother in a case of mistaken identity.
• Romantic Plot Tumor: The interlocking love triangles can be this for many fans. Considering the dire circumstances the characters are in, it can come across as downright Narm how melodramatic they get over who loves who and who doesn't love who back.
