YMMV / Newgrounds Rumble

Go To

  • Low-Tier Letdown: Convict has an Involuntary Shapeshifting gimmick that essentially mandates you to master every other character in the roster and turns fighting with him into a Luck-Based Mission, and he's not crazy good even when he isn't shapeshifted. It's a major reason his story is considered the hardest.
  • That One Level: The fourth and final mission of Convict's story, a 1-Vs-3 with Pico, Nene and Samurai Asshole in the Padded Cell. Due to the confined space of the cell and the 3 opponents working together, it is very easy for them to gang up on you and deal loads of damage. For this reason, the Author's Comment even WARNS inexperienced players that this is the hardest pre-determined battle.
  • Unexpected Character:
    • Samurai Asshole only starred in one game beforehand, which was considered laggy even by early Flash standards (which Rumble translates into him being a Mighty Glacier). If anything, his status as one of the most well-known mascots of the portal is probably the only thing that got him in the game.
    • Alloy as well, having only been in two flashes. His presence can presumably be attributed to his creator MindChamber being the game's artist.
    • Fancy Pants Man can count as this as well, as while he does have more than one or two games, not only does he not originate from Newgrounds, but his home series is way more Lighter and Softer than all the other characters' series.
  • What Do You Mean, It's Not for Kids?: Don't let the fact that this is a Smash Bros. clone fool you. This game has characters in which their home series has either blood, gore, partial nudity, vulgar humor, and/or swearing. Hell, one of the characters is even named Samurai Asshole. Fancy Pants Man's appearance doesn't help at all, since the series he comes from has none of the above-mentioned things (This is actually a plot point in his route; the other characters try to kill him because they were against "wholesome, non-violent gaming").
