- One True Pairing: The Kate/Lucy (aka "Kacy") relationship has been very well received by the fanbase and is often seen as one of the best aspects of the show. It's very rare to find a fan that ships them with anyone else.

- So Okay, It's Average: With much of the story focused on the individual characters and their cases interjecting throughout each episode, it has a different flavor from the rest of the NCIS franchise — but generally reviews seem to be middling, neither hating nor loving any real major aspects of the series and lacking anything that really helps it stick out on its own.
- Special Effect Failure: The team and Torres are clearly photoshopped on the cards in "TNT".
