- Alternative Character Interpretation: Maya is hilariously obsessed (and likely in love with) her brother, but did she really beat her head against a wall just to join him in the other world? In stark contrast to the bopping, peppy OP mentioned below, the moody ending credits tell the story of Maya’s arrival in the new world from her point of view. There’s a subset of fans that believe she possibly went further than that to follow her brother.
- Awesome Music: "Mikyu Platonic" by VALIS is a bopper song which is better than the show is associated with.
- Launcher of a Thousand Ships: Asahi has such good chemistry with most of the cast that's he's been shipped with plenty of characters, the sole exception being his possessive sister Maya, who fans share his opinion about her being so crazily obsessed with him it's outright disturbing.
- Squick: Everything about Maya is disturbing due to her obsession with Asahi:
- When Asahi gets injured, Maya tries to lick his wound. Despite it getting healed, Maya decides to bite his arm anyways.
- In Episode 7, Maya daydreams about marrying Asahi. Which would be fine if they weren't blood-related.
