  • Arc Fatigue: The UA Sports Festival was this for the author himself. It was to the point that he ended the semifinal fight between Bakugo and Shirou in a draw just so he could end it with Todoroki being the winner by default.

  • Alternative Character Interpretation:
    • Shirou: Is he wise to keep the full breadth of his abilities under wraps, or is he foolish and being unintentionally demeaning to his classmates? On the one hand, he knows that one of the two servants who got sucked into the Grail are with him, along with Angra Mainyu, and keeping his abilities hidden could keep him from being noticed by Gilgamesh if he ever shows up. While he did defeat Gilgamesh in UBW, he did that when he had access to all of his magic circuits, and had Rin's transplanted Magic Crest. Or, is it like his foster mother said, that he's worrying for nothing, and is demeaning his classmates by not giving it his all, viewing them as weak and foolish? After all, while Shirou might not be able to deal with Gilgamesh in his current state, Archer certainly could, having access to his own mana and the UBW. In addition, the Grail sent him to the MHA universe explicitly because he wanted to be a hero and had "won" the Grail War.
    • Todoroki: as far as he knows, Shirou killed the Nomu. While the Nomu's sentience is debatable, Todoroki maintains that killing it is the wrong way to go. But the Nomu was so powerful that Shirou had to summon Gae Bolg, a cursed spear that inflicts wounds that can't be healed, and always pierces the heart, in order to defeat it. Is Todoroki right in that heroes shouldn't commit homicide, or is he being unrealistic in the face of an opponent with such drastic power?
    • Bakugou: is he an idiot for Bullying the Dragon until he summons Gae Bolg, or is there just no way he could have known, or even conceived, the power of the spear? Shirou did use to take down Nomu, and Bakugou saw first hand how strong he was. However, Shirou did defeat Nomu out of sight of him, so there was no way for him to know how he did it.
  • Harsher in Hindsight:
    • At first it's a great moment, seeing Shirou let loose and use Gae Bolg, the spear that can release an attack that always strikes the opponent's heart when fully activated, against Bakugo in the semi-final match and dominating the fight. However, it can be hard to read that scene again after canon Bakugo gets his heart burst in the Final Battle against Shigaraki.
    • Aoyama said he doesn't join the after-school training session first time due to Shirou and Bakugo's rematch taking center stage, not himself. But, given it's revealed in canon that he is actually The Mole (albiet Forced into Evil). Does he truly mean it? Or did he just lie and actually go to AFO to inform him about it.
