• Hollywood Homely: Julia doesn't dissuade Selina's Heroic Self-Deprecation about her appearance and implies she will have to use her personality and acquired skills to win over Mr Malcolm, despite Freida Pinto being obviously beautiful.
• Strawman Has a Point: Jeremy is ridiculed and blasted for having a list of qualities that he wants his future wife to have, but all of the things he wants are perfectly valid—intelligent, amiable, etc. He also quite truthfully points out that he had only one date with Julia and never led her on, nor is he responsible for the cruel caricature that depicts him dumping her.
