• The Woobie: Maria, Councilwoman Eileen Hill’s secretary. Not only did Hill hire her only because she was pregnant as part of a plan to convince her boyfriend Paul Crawford to leave his wife, Monk only pretended to be nice to her so she would vote to save the parking garage where Trudy was murdered. When Monk figures out Crawford killed Hill and two German tourists who were near the pier where he dumped Hill’s body, he belittles Maria in her presence.
