• Unintentional Period Piece: One of the most remarkable ever made, during that narrow window from about 1941 to 1944 in which Josef Stalin was seen by many Americans as a man with good intentions. As noted on the main page, the remarkable assertion that Stalin's purge and show trials were honest efforts to root out traitors also dates this film badly.
