- Aluminum Christmas Trees: Many fans think the Kosters are Allegorical Characters, but they were real people involved in the Danish Resistance, although their story is dramatized.
- Ensemble Dark Horse:
- Brave young student resistance fighter and Sacrificial Lion Jorgen is a big favorite despite his secondary role.
- Georg Duckwitz, The Mole undermining the plans to deport the Jews, may not appear too often, but provides some of the most powerful scenes in the movie.
- Signature Scene: The Nazis launching their raid on Rosh Hanash and finding most of their Jewish targets already gone into hiding is one of the more iconic bits of the film.
- So Okay, It's Average: The actors do a good job and the subject matter is a stirring one that deserves attention, but the low budget and occasional use of clichés keep the movie from achieving true greatness.
