  • Heartwarming Moments: When they share a break period during the episode, Frank and Trapper have a heart-to-heart talk.
Frank: And, what I don't understand is, why do people take an instant dislike to me?
    Trapper: It saves time, Frank.
Frank: Well, we got along fine for the first two weeks.
Trapper: Exactly, Frank. That time was absolutely wasted.
Frank: But deep down there's no real hatred, is there?
Trapper: Deep down? No. It's just that you're a joyless person, Frank. You're a D-U-L.
    Trapper: That's terrible.
Frank: I think that's why I became a snitch, so I could talk to somebody.
Trapper: You were a snitch, Frank?
Frank: I'd squeal on anybody. Once, in school, I caught my best friend smoking. I didn't report him. Later, I snitched on myself for not snitching.
Trapper: Give me a break, Frank. I'm very tired. I'm hearing you through the wrong end of the binoculars.
Frank: All I'm asking is for you and Pierce to let up on razzing me.
    Trapper: Okay, Frank.
    Frank: Friends?
Trapper: Friends, Frank. No more hostility. No more hatred. Friends.
    Frank: (grins happily)
Trapper: Now shut up, Frank, or I'll kill you.
    • While Hawkeye is taking a short break outside the OR, Klinger brings over an Ethiopian patient Hawkeye worked on earlier. The man thanks Hawkeye in his native language, then takes Hawkeye's hand and kisses it.
Hawkeye:(visibly touched) That's the nicest fee I've ever gotten.
  • Harsher in Hindsight: Hawkeye and Henry have a conversation when they're both on break where they discuss the possibility that Henry might be getting arthritis in his hands. The conversation leads to Henry making a heartwarming speech about how much of a difference he is making in Korea as a war doctor than he would have had in his practice back home. Then the harsh hits with what Hawkeye says next.
Hawkeye: Wars don't last forever, Henry. Only war does. One day you're gonna have to go back home and die in your bed in Bloomington.
  • Nightmare Fuel: The open heart massage scene, despite the Gory Discretion Shot involved, can get very tense for some viewers.
