• Harsher in Hindsight: After Chapter 4 of The Fantastic Mutants, which featured a parody of Saturday Night Live's Celebrity Jeopardy skits, was published, Sean Connery and Alex Trebek both passed away.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: Tons of story beats from Secret Wars line up pretty well with Infinity War and Endgame.
  • The Crystal Gems perform a universe-wide quest for the Infinity Stones, the Avengers do the same across time.
  • Thanos acquires the Power Stone first off-screen and the last stone he takes is the Mind Stone.
  • Speaking of which, the heroes are forced to make a Sadistic Choice involving the Mind Stone. Scarlet Witch is forced to destroy Vision or risk Thanos winning, the Crystal Gems are forced to hand it to Thanos or risk Earth being destroyed. Both lead to Thanos getting all the stones and performing his Badass Fingersnap.
  • At the end of Battleworld and Endgame, Thanos is taken care of through one of the heroes stealing the Infinity Stones. The former has Steven using them to restore everything Thanos destroyed & turn him to stone, Iron Man uses it to kill all of Thanos's minions and later the Mad Titan himself. Only difference is that Tony dies.
  • The Soul Stone is found another planet (Titan, Vormir) and its acquiring by the villains is a major turning point.
  • This also wouldn't be the last time the Crystal Gems form an Enemy Mine with the Diamonds against a greater threat.
  • In Secret Wars, Jasper sacrifices herself against Thanos and is shattered as a result. In Steven Universe: Future, the same happens only it was an Accidental Murder courtesy of a Drunk on the Dark Side Steven.
