• Angst? What Angst?: In the anime, Aoi doesn't seem to be heartbroken that her fiancee, Kurusu, didn't return to her and is presumed dead. She continues to be cheery as she makes friends with Deffrot and enjoys doing her job despite not liking the assignments given to her by her boss. Though it is possible that this is her way to cope with not seeing Kurusu as she tries to stay positive whenever she can. This is in contrast with the manga where she's more emotional and devastated with the news of Kurusu being dead and longs to see him again.
• Awesome Music:
  • The opening song, "Aria of Life" by Wagakki Band really sounds incredible most especially since the band is known for using traditional Japanese musical instruments in their songs.
  • The ending song, "ON MY OWN", by Hyde suits perfectly as if the song's about Defrott.
• Ensemble Dark Horse:
  • Defrott is considered by viewers as one of the best characters in the show all thanks to Miyuki Sawashiro's performance.
  • Yanagami is also a favorite among viewers due to be a reluctant vampire who just wants to have his normal life back and being a great friend to Kurusu and Maeda.
• Rewatch Bonus: Rewatching the first episode after watching episode 6 makes Misaki's story seen in even more tragic light and how Maeda finds out about her after returning to Tokyo.
• Too Cool to Live:
  • Misaki. She dies in the first episode but her presence made a huge impact on Maeda.
  • Yamagami. His death took viewers by surprise since it could have been avoided if he hadn't stepped into the sunlight while carrying the debris. Granted, he did leave some good parting words to Maeda and told him to take care of Kurusu.
