• Angst? What Angst?: Gary takes getting trapped in an alternate dimension and gradually losing his memory rather well. At least he doesn’t have to go into work tomorrow.

• Awesome Music: The game’s score includes a number of the memorable pieces from various Mario games and related sources, but special mention goes to the Super Mario Galaxy 2 piece that accompanies Gary learning to fly, which marks the occasion with the first fully orchestrated song in the game.

• Demonic Spiders: The Greapers in the Worselands appear in large numbers, have high speed, and hit hard. They're massively stronger than enemies in the previous area, and enemies in the following areas are notably weaker.

• Ho Yay: Gary being openly gay doesn't leave much room for subtext or interpretation. However, parts of the game that have you using an all-male party can call the Reverse Harem trope to mind, considering the genre.

• Nightmare Retardant: The Shadow enemies that reside underground and summon skeletal hands to attack you are creepy. The fact that the method of attack involves booping your snoot humorously ruins the intimidation factor.

• That One Boss: Dr. Crygor, of all characters! He'll always attack first, deals multiple strong attacks per turn, heals every turn as long as his mech's chest plate is intact, and has a small chance of being able to freeze the entire party in place. Better hope you have a badge that protects against freeze equipped!
