  • Anvilicious: The message of the story is as subtle as a jackhammer; don't be misogynistic. However, the story carrying out by placing women in the exact same situations that other minorities have been in (such as concentration camps, like Jews during the Holocaust, or segregation, like African-Americans) comes off as tactless and insensitive towards the experiences of these minorities.
    • There's one panel that even shows several young girls being rounded up in a concentration camp while they're wearing generic girl power shirts.
  • Narm: The over-the-top nature of the comic seems like something that would come from an alt-right parody, but it's played completely seriously.
    • In one panel, two boys — including an African-American boy — coldly tell Maude — a Caucasian-American girl — to stay away from their water fountain and go to her own, because the water fountains at school are now segregated. It comes off as unbelievable, considering the black boy would probably have qualms over History Repeats.
  • Overshadowed by Controversy: The author's views have been subject to this. Cain would delete her Twitter account in response to the drama.
    • More controversy was stirred up with issue #9 which featured actual real life tweets that were critical of the comic (used without permission) as propaganda posters in the concentration camps.
  • Squick: The emphasis of menstruation and menstruation products. It's meant to help desensitize the topic of menstruation, but with the anvilicious message, it also comes off as over-the-top.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: What about transgender people? How is the were-cat crisis being addressed with them? This is glossed over in the story, and this is not helped by the author making insensitive remarks towards transgender people.
