  • Awesome Music: The music in Evolved is outstanding. While playing through a level, it changes to fit the intensity of how well you're playing.
  • Game-Breaker: Introduced in 3, Color Sort rearranges all spheres on the screen into trains that are easily finished off with one 3-match for each color. It is that overpowered to the point that the powerup is changed to arrange only one train of spheres regardless of how many spheres are left on that train in 5th Passage.
    • Gameplay Derailment: Because of how the powerup system works in 3 and Quest for the Afterlife, a viable tactic is to purposely go for a third teal-colored 3-match on higher difficulties to get Color Sort to drop, and then finish off the arranged train with another third teal-colored 3-match to arrange the next train of spheres and repeat further (and break chains to adjust the last match on the train to be a third teal-colored 3-match). Once you mastered that tactic, difficulty from managing trains of lots of color spheres in irregular arrangements becomes almost non-existent on Insane.
  • That One Level:
    • Regardless of game, Nefertari Collar, especially on the hardest difficulty. Evolved makes this even more brutal and agonizing that you're bound to lose at least one life unless you have a Super Power-Up ready to go. The chains move so quickly on this map that there's almost no time to make decisions. Get rid of those spheres or lose a life.
    • The Pillar of Osiris from The Wrath of Set also counts. During your first outing there, you are faced with balls that move faster and take less time to the pyramids. You are also more likely to add balls on the overpass that lead to the left pyramid when you meant to shoot at the underpass. Better hope you got decent power-ups and a good combo or chain because you are almost guaranteed to lose a life or two here.
