YMMV / Lupin III vs. Detective Conan: The Movie

• Awesome Music: In the preceding television special, the most iconic themes of each series were applied to characters from their respective series rather haphazardly. In this, their execution is refined such that they align with the Narrative Beats, and start playing when the character they're associated with is doing something really awesome. The result is great.
• Continuity Lockout: The movie has a self-contained story up until the final act, which reveals the motivations of the antagonists which directly tie into the storyline of the previous crossover and can come off as confusing to anyone who chose to watch this first.
• Crossover Ship: Sato called Lupin III her first love (because she's a fan (of the fictional character)) in the eleventh ''Conan'' movie, but with them in the same flick the detail actually comes up.
• Even Better Sequel: The movie was better received than the previous special.
• Harsher in Hindsight: Conan states that "Lupin III vs. Kaito Kid" will never happen, with its fake release date being in 2020. He was right because of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
