- Genius Bonus: The title. "Flops" not only refers to the various pratfalls Asahi finds himself in, but it also refers to FLOPS, as in floating point operations per second, a measure of computing power. This foreshadows the Mid-Season Twist that all of the love interests are actually AIs.
- It’s so subtle you might miss it, but the show gives a similar clue to The Matrix that Asahi is in a simulation. Episodes 1 through 7 have all the characters with bluish-purple lineart for their outlines and details. After The Reveal, all the art in the real world uses more standard black lines.
