YMMV / Living Playground

  • Angst? What Angst?: The playground children's reaction to finding out they're product of the Owner's rejected wish to have kids. Pablo has a breakdown, Tony is mostly confused while Octavio says he can't come to care about a mother who never wanted them. Even when they're forced to kill the Owner at the end of the game, they decide to brush it off by going on another snail hunting.
    • Averted in the 2018 remake. Instead, the three are equally sad and depressed upong finding out their origins and their mother's rejection. Even when Octavio tries to brush it off by going on to another snail hunt (and in this version it's obvious he's trying to act cheerful for Tony and Pablo's sake) the other two call him out, still affected by the events of the game and the reveal of their origins.
  • Creator's Pet: Tony, to the point she's the face of Meaka's games and blog. That doesn't make her any less adorable and endearing.
  • Too Bleak, Stopped Caring: The bad endings are all relentless and depressing and they all have the same outcome, with the Owner killing the children. Probably the reason why the author decided to scrap them for the 2018 version, with the True Ending being the canon and only one.
  • What Do You Mean, It's for Kids?: Meaka has officially rated the game for all ages, but the deaths in game are quite (if not quite) bloody. It doesn't help that the protagonists are toddlers. Fixed in the 2018 version, with their ages being lifted, as they're now elementary school kids.
