  • Complacent Gaming Syndrome: Once ice magic is unlocked its not uncommon to abandon the arcane magic due to its homing properties.
  • Difficulty Spike:The Tower Boss Rush mode added in a latter release can be this for returning players. Unlocked by beating the main game, this mode gives bosses some buffs, while stripping the player of the ability to level up to buff stats. Making the game much more difficult even with the ablity to buy books and recovery gems. However essence itself is argumentably the biggest problem as the main reliable way to gain essence is through countering with absorption. Which can lead to extra frustration for those who disregarded it during the main game.
  • Game-Breaker: The thunder element. While finding it is a little bit out of the way, it can be obtained quite early by defeating an optional boss, once the player actually have it they have access to what is basically a sniper rifle with no need to scope that can one shot pretty much anything they might come across making it stupidly overpowered when compared to the other elements. Even bosses melt in seconds. And while it is supposed to be balanced around its long cooldown timer and heavy mana cost compared to the other elements, it has such an easy time to stagger even bosses that by the time they recover the cooldown has already finished. The mana cost meanwhile turns irrelevant as it deals so much damage that almost everything will be dead before it even becomes an issue. And as if this wasn't enough, when charged it causes Nobeta to enter Bullet Time, giving her free reign to wail on enemies which also recharges her mana even faster making the mana cost even more moot. Finally there is the cast which is basically a giant Kill Sat that hits a huge area that not only deals even more damage, but also ignores line of sight and even walls. Needless to say, all these traits combined results in the element making the entire rest of the game a cakewalk.
  • Heartwarming Moments: The ending qualifies. After the battle against Nonota the fight wraps up the same way as the others with Nonota starting to fade away. However instead of lettings her fade away so she can be absorbed, Nobeta heals her and offers her to come with her adventuring. With Nonota accepting. Later Nobeta is shown leaving the castle only for a certain black cat to join her with a certain blue ribbon.
  • Scrappy Mechanic: The need to accomplish certain feats to unlock new character costumes is nothing new, but it becomes quite obnoxious when it is also true for the DLC costumes. Most infamously is the bunny suit which require one to to absorb quite a lot of magic energy using the parry, something that is already difficult to pull off on its own. Due to the amount required it necessitates a copious amount of grinding to unlock.
  • Surprise Difficulty: Those unfamiliar with Souls-like RPG or went into the game expected something simple and cute game, will be caught of guard by the complexity and difficulty of bosses present in the game.
