- Award Snub: The film was Portugal's submission for the Best International Film Oscar and there were very high hopes that it would become the first Portuguese film to get nominated in the category. However, most of the film's dialogue is actually in English, which disqualified it. Quite a few Portuguese cinephiles were disappointed.
